CraftWork brings highly popular ‘Small-Joys-for-Sheltering-in-Place’, to a close.

A big “thank you” to all of our amazing Craft Partners!

When the shelter in place order went into effect, CraftWork’s team found themselves with some extra time on their hands and a desire to do something positive to support local small businesses while bringing some ‘joy’ to its  membership.  CraftWork’s community manager, Laurie Wood, explained, ‘we wanted to do something simple and inexpensive that would bring a smile to our members and some income to the local businesses that were struggling to survive.  We had no idea how popular it might be’.  What was originally conceived as a 2-3 week initiative ended up spanning over ten weeks and supporting ten locally owned businesses.  Each week CraftWork’s team would work with a local small business to create a new ‘joy’ for around $20-$25, which was then offered via email and instagram to the community.  The program quickly grew beyond CraftWork’s membership.  By the tenth week we had over 70 unique participants and completed over $6,000 in sales, all of which went directly to the businesses.

Offerings and our partners included:

Craft cocktail kits from Young & Yonder.

Artisan coffee and homemade granola from Flying Goat Coffee.

Fresh flowers from Dragonfly Floral.
